Job Description

The HIS (Hospital Information System) Implementation Manager is responsible for overseeing the successful deployment, integration, and optimization of healthcare IT systems across clinical and administrative departments. Based in a healthcare facility in the UAE, this role ensures the HIS platform meets functional and regulatory requirements while enhancing patient care and operational efficiency. The manager coordinates with vendors, hospital leadership, and multidisciplinary teams to lead the implementation process from planning through post-launch support.


Responsibilities:

  • Leading the end-to-end implementation of Hospital Information Systems, ensuring timely and successful delivery.

  • Coordinating with internal stakeholders, healthcare professionals, and IT teams to gather requirements and customize system functionalities.

  • Managing vendor relationships, timelines, and contracts related to the HIS solution.

  • Overseeing system configuration, data migration, integration with third-party applications, and user acceptance testing.

  • Conducting training sessions for clinical and administrative staff on HIS usage and best practices.

  • Ensuring the system complies with UAE healthcare regulations, patient data protection laws, and industry standards.

  • Monitoring post-implementation performance, resolving system issues, and optimizing workflows.

  • Preparing project reports, risk assessments, and documentation throughout the project lifecycle.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Health Informatics, IT, Biomedical Engineering, or a related discipline; Master's preferred.

  • 6–8 years of experience in HIS implementation or healthcare IT project management within the UAE healthcare sector.

  • Strong knowledge of HIS platforms such as Cerner, Epic, InterSystems, or similar systems.

  • Experience in healthcare data standards (HL7, FHIR), clinical workflows, and regulatory compliance in the UAE.

  • Excellent project management skills with a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams.

  • Effective communicator with the ability to bridge the gap between clinical and technical stakeholders.

  • PMP or PRINCE2 certification is an advantage.
