Job Description

The HIS Implementation Manager is responsible for overseeing the implementation of a new hospital information system (HIS) within a healthcare organization. They work closely with cross-functional teams, vendors, and stakeholders to ensure a smooth transition from the existing system to the new HIS. The role involves project planning, system testing, training coordination, and change management. The HIS Implementation Manager also provides ongoing support and troubleshooting during and after implementation.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute project plans for the implementation of the new hospital information system.
  • Collaborate with IT teams, vendors, and stakeholders to define project requirements and timelines.
  • Coordinate system testing, including UAT (User Acceptance Testing) and integration testing.
  • Manage the training program for end-users, including scheduling and content development.
  • Ensure all necessary data is migrated accurately from the legacy system to the new HIS.
  • Communicate project progress, risks, and issues to stakeholders and senior management.
  • Support change management activities, including training, communication, and user adoption.
  • Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting during and after the implementation phase.
  • Evaluate system performance post-implementation and identify areas for improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and best practices related to HIS implementation and management.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Healthcare Administration, or related field.
  • Previous experience in healthcare information systems implementation or project management.
  • Knowledge of healthcare workflows, data integration, and system testing methodologies.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams.
  • Experience in change management and training coordination.
