General Practitioner

A General Practitioner (GP) is a primary healthcare provider who offers comprehensive medical care to patients of all ages. The role involves diagnosing, treating, and managing a wide range of acute and chronic illnesses while emphasizing preventive care and overall patient well-being. GPs often serve as the first point of contact for patients and play a critical role in guiding them through the healthcare system, including referring them to specialists when necessary. This position requires a compassionate approach, strong clinical skills, and the ability to build trusting relationships with patients and families.

Responsibilities

• Conduct routine check-ups and physical examinations

• Diagnose and manage common medical conditions and minor injuries

• Prescribe medications and administer treatments

• Provide preventive care, including vaccinations and health advice

• Order and interpret diagnostic tests such as blood work and X-rays

• Refer patients to specialists or hospitals for advanced care when needed

• Maintain detailed and accurate patient records

• Educate patients on lifestyle changes, disease prevention, and treatment plans

Requirements

• Medical degree (MBBS or equivalent) with valid medical license

• Proven experience as a General Practitioner or similar role

• Excellent diagnostic and decision-making skills

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities

• Commitment to continuous professional development

• Familiarity with electronic medical records systems

• Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or on-call shifts if required
