Position Title: Export Sales Manager
Department: Sales & Marketing

Reports To: Sales Director / Regional Manager
Job Type: Full-Time

Job Summary:

The Export Sales Manager will be responsible for driving the sales and business development of raw steel materials, including pipes and plates, in international markets. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, building relationships with global clients, managing export operations, and ensuring successful delivery of products in compliance with international standards. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in international sales, knowledge of the steel industry, and the ability to develop strategic relationships with clients across various countries.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Sales Development & Strategy:
    • Develop and execute the sales strategy to expand the company's presence in international markets.
    • Identify and explore new business opportunities in target export markets for steel raw materials, particularly pipes and plates.
    • Meet or exceed sales targets and revenue goals for exports.
    • Conduct market research to understand trends, competition, and customer needs in global markets.
    • Participate in international trade shows and industry events to promote products and network with potential clients.
  • Client Relationship Management:
    • Establish, develop, and maintain strong relationships with key clients, distributors, and partners across different regions.
    • Negotiate pricing, terms, and conditions of contracts with customers.
    • Handle client inquiries, provide quotations, and ensure timely follow-up to secure business.
    • Develop and maintain long-term relationships with key stakeholders, including customers, suppliers, and logistics providers.
  • Export Operations:
    • Oversee the entire export process, ensuring smooth logistics and timely delivery of steel materials, including pipes and plates, to international clients.
    • Coordinate with production, logistics, and customs teams to ensure orders are processed efficiently.
    • Monitor shipping schedules, manage freight costs, and ensure compliance with international shipping regulations.
    • Work closely with finance and legal departments to ensure contracts and transactions are properly documented and comply with international trade regulations.
  • Market Intelligence & Reporting:
    • Provide regular market intelligence and sales forecasts to management to support strategic decision-making.
    • Monitor sales performance and report on achievements, challenges, and opportunities in the export markets.
    • Analyze customer feedback and competitor activity to identify new opportunities for product expansion and innovation.
  • Compliance & Risk Management:
    • Ensure that all international transactions comply with relevant export laws, regulations, and tariffs.
    • Address and resolve any issues related to export documentation, customs clearance, and product quality in international markets.
    • Work with legal and finance teams to minimize financial risks associated with foreign sales.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, International Trade, Marketing, or related field. A Master's degree or professional certifications in international trade or export management is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • Minimum of 2-3 years of experience in export sales, preferably in the steel industry or a related sector.
    • Proven track record of managing international accounts and achieving sales targets in export markets.
    • In-depth knowledge of the steel industry, especially in raw materials such as pipes and plates.
  • Skills:
    • Strong negotiation, communication, and presentation skills.
    • Excellent knowledge of international trade regulations and export documentation.
    • Ability to build and maintain relationships with clients from different cultural backgrounds.
    • Strong analytical skills to assess market trends and customer needs.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and CRM software. Knowledge of ERP systems is an advantage.
    • Fluency in English is required; additional languages are a plus.
