Job Description

The Estimation Coordinator plays a crucial role in the construction industry by developing accurate cost estimates for projects. The primary responsibilities include reviewing project plans, gathering data, and analyzing information to create estimates for material, labor, and other resources required for construction. The Estimation Coordinator collaborates with various teams to ensure estimates are realistic and within budget. Attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work under pressure are essential for this role. Additionally, excellent communication skills are needed to effectively present and explain estimates to stakeholders. A degree in construction management or a related field, along with prior experience in estimating, is typically required for this position.


Responsibilities

  • Analyze project requirements and specifications to develop accurate cost estimates.
  • Collaborate with project managers and teams to gather necessary information for estimating purposes.
  • Prepare and submit detailed cost estimates for projects, including materials, labor, equipment, and overhead costs.
  • Review and analyze supplier quotes and subcontractor bids to ensure competitiveness and accuracy.
  • Maintain cost databases and update pricing information regularly to ensure estimates reflect current market conditions.
  • Identify and quantify potential risks and opportunities that may impact project costs.
  • Participate in bid review meetings to discuss estimates, pricing strategies, and competitive positioning.
  • Provide support in negotiating and finalizing contracts with clients, suppliers, and subcontractors.
  • Monitor and track actual project costs against estimated budgets to identify and explain variances.
  • Continuously improve estimation processes and tools to enhance accuracy and efficiency in cost estimating.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in construction estimating or project management.
  • Proficiency in using estimating software and tools.
  • Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills.
