Electrical Draftsman

As an Electrical Draftsman, you will play a crucial role in the design and development of electrical systems for various projects. Your responsibilities will include creating detailed technical drawings using computer-aided design (CAD) software, collaborating with engineers and architects to ensure compliance with project specifications and industry standards, and reviewing and revising drawings to incorporate necessary changes. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate records of design materials and specifications, as well as providing support during the construction and installation phases of projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of electrical principles, excellent attention to detail, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team. A diploma or certificate in drafting or a related field is typically required for this role.

Responsibilities

• Create detailed electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and layouts using Computer-Aided Design (CAD) software.
• Review and interpret technical drawings, specifications, and vendor information to ensure accuracy and compliance with project requirements.
• Collaborate with engineers and project managers to understand project objectives and design criteria.
• Prepare and maintain documentation related to electrical designs, including material lists, technical specifications, and design calculations.
• Assist in coordinating with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless integration of electrical components into overall project design.
• Participate in design reviews and provide input on potential improvements or cost-saving measures.
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices, emerging technologies, and relevant codes and standards.
• Support project implementation by providing technical assistance during construction, testing, and commissioning phases.
• Address and resolve design issues or discrepancies as they arise during the design and construction process.
• Adhere to project schedules and deadlines, and ensure that all electrical design deliverables meet quality standards.
