Dialysis Technician

A Dialysis Technician is responsible for operating dialysis machines and providing essential support to patients with kidney failure undergoing hemodialysis treatment. This role involves preparing equipment, monitoring patients during procedures, ensuring proper sterilization of machines, and maintaining detailed records of each session. The technician works closely with nurses and physicians to ensure patient safety, comfort, and adherence to treatment protocols. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and a compassionate approach to patient care.

Responsibilities:

• Prepare and operate dialysis machines and related equipment.

• Set up dialysis machines and ensure they function according to established protocols.

• Monitor patients during dialysis treatment and respond to any complications or alarms.

• Record vital signs and patient observations before, during, and after the procedure.

• Ensure proper sterilization and maintenance of dialysis equipment.

• Assist in educating patients about dialysis procedures and aftercare.

• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of treatments and patient conditions.

• Adhere to infection control and safety procedures.

• Communicate effectively with nurses, doctors, and other healthcare team members.

• Provide emotional support to patients undergoing regular treatments.

Requirements:

• Diploma or certification in Dialysis Technology or a related healthcare field.

• Proven experience as a dialysis technician is preferred.

• In-depth knowledge of dialysis equipment, procedures, and safety standards.

• Basic life support (BLS) certification may be required.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

• Ability to work in a fast-paced and emotionally demanding environment.

• Attention to detail and commitment to patient safety and hygiene.

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays, if needed.
