CSSD Technician

We are currently seeking a skilled CSSD Technician to join our dynamic healthcare team. The CSSD Technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper decontamination, sterilization, assembly, and storage of medical instruments and equipment. Duties include inspecting instruments for cleanliness, operating sterilization equipment, maintaining records of sterilization cycles, and restocking supplies as needed. The ideal candidate will have a strong attention to detail, knowledge of infection control standards, and experience working in a sterile processing environment. Certification in sterile processing is preferred. Excellent communication skills, the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment, and a commitment to patient safety are essential qualities for success in this role. Responsibilities

• Sterilize and maintain surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
• Prepare and operate sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and sterilization containers.
• Monitor and document sterilization processes to ensure effectiveness and compliance with regulatory standards.
• Inspect and assemble instrument trays, packs, and sets to ensure proper functionality and sterility.
• Distribute sterile supplies to the appropriate departments or units as needed.
• Assist in inventory management by tracking instruments, supplies, and equipment usage and levels.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment to promote proper infection control practices.
• Adhere to safety protocols and protocols for handling contaminated or potentially infectious materials.
• Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the efficient and effective sterilization of instruments for patient care.
• Participate in ongoing training and education to stay current on best practices and advancements in CSSD techniques and technologies.

• High school diploma or equivalent GED
• Certification in sterile processing and distribution (CBSPD or IAHCSMM)
• Knowledge of infection control standards and practices
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to work well in a team environment
