Job Description

The Credit Controller plays a key role in managing and collecting outstanding debts from customers. They will be responsible for monitoring customer accounts, identifying overdue payments, and taking appropriate actions to ensure timely collection. The Credit Controller will work closely with internal stakeholders and customers to resolve payment issues, maintain accurate records, and provide regular reports on credit status. Attention to detail, strong negotiation skills, and a proactive approach are essential in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor customer accounts to identify and track overdue payments.
  • Contact customers via phone, email, or mail to request payment and resolve payment disputes.
  • Negotiate payment plans and terms with customers to ensure timely collection.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, such as sales and customer service, to address customer concerns and resolve payment issues.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all collections activities.
  • Review and analyze credit applications to assess creditworthiness of new and existing customers.
  • Conduct credit checks on potential customers and recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Prepare regular reports on credit status, including collections progress and outstanding debts.
  • Stay updated on relevant industry regulations and best practices in credit control.
  • Continuously evaluate and improve credit management processes and procedures.
  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
  • Previous experience in credit control or collections preferred.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze financial data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other accounting software.
