Job Description

The Construction Manager will be responsible for overseeing and leading construction projects from start to finish. This role will involve planning, budgeting, organizing, and implementing all aspects of the project, ensuring it is completed on time and within budget. The Construction Manager will work closely with architects, engineers, subcontractors, and other team members to ensure coordination and timely completion of all tasks. Strong leadership and communication skills are essential, as the Construction Manager will be managing a team of construction workers and contractors. A strong understanding of construction methods, regulations, and safety protocols is also required to ensure compliance and quality workmanship. This role will require frequent site visits and the ability to problem solve and make decisions quickly to keep the project on track. A degree in construction management or a related field, along with several years of experience in construction project management, is typically required for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage construction projects from beginning to end within budget and timeline constraints.
  • Coordinate and supervise construction activities on-site, including scheduling, quality control, and safety compliance.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and subcontractors to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Review and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications to ensure compliance with project requirements.
  • Monitor and report on project progress, addressing any issues or delays that may arise during construction.
  • Procure materials, equipment, and labor necessary for construction projects, ensuring cost-effective solutions.
  • Maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and local authorities to facilitate smooth project execution.
  • Implement and enforce safety regulations and standards on-site to prevent accidents and ensure a safe working environment.
  • Manage project budgets, forecasting costs, and providing financial reports to stakeholders as needed.
  • Participate in regular meetings with project team members to communicate updates, discuss challenges, and strategize solutions.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, civil engineering, or related field.
  • Previous experience working in the construction industry, with a proven track record of managing projects.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills to effectively manage teams and collaborate with stakeholders.
  • Certification such as Project Management Professional (PMP) or Construction Manager in Training (CMIT) is preferred.
