Job Description

As a Commis 3, you will be responsible for assisting in the preparation of menu items under the supervision of a Chef de Partie or Sous Chef. Your duties will include basic food preparation tasks such as chopping vegetables, weighing and measuring ingredients, and following recipes. You will also be expected to maintain a clean and organized work station, as well as adhere to food safety and sanitation standards. The ideal candidate will have a passion for cooking and a willingness to learn and grow in a professional kitchen environment. Good communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for success in this role. A high school diploma or equivalent, along with some culinary training or previous kitchen experience, is typically required for this position. If you are enthusiastic about starting your culinary career and are eager to work in a dynamic kitchen setting, this role as a Commis 3 could be a great fit for you.


Responsibilities

  • Support the senior chefs in food preparation and cooking activities.
  • Follow recipes and assist in preparing ingredients for menu items.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of work areas, including kitchen equipment and utensils.
  • Assist in setting up stations for menu service and ensure smooth operation during service hours.
  • Monitor food quality and presentation to ensure adherence to standards.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock rotation to minimize waste.
  • Follow sanitation and safety guidelines to maintain a clean and safe work environment.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure effective communication and workflow.
  • Actively participate in training and development programs to enhance culinary skills.
  • Demonstrate a positive attitude and willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
