Job Description

As a Collections and Recovery Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the collections process within the organization. Your primary duties will include developing and implementing strategies to enhance collections performance, managing a team of collection agents, and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. You will also be responsible for analyzing data and trends to identify areas for improvement, implementing best practices to optimize recovery efforts, and communicating with internal stakeholders to provide regular updates on collection activities. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in collections management, excellent communication and leadership skills, and a proven track record of driving results in a fast-paced environment. A bachelor's degree in finance, business administration, or a related field is typically required for this role.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement collections and recovery strategies to minimize delinquency and losses.
  • Manage a team of collections specialists and recovery agents, ensuring targets are met and performance goals are achieved.
  • Monitor and analyze collection performance metrics, identifying areas for improvement and implementing action plans.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with external collection agencies and legal partners.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations related to collections and recovery activities.
  • Provide regular reports and updates to senior management on collection and recovery performance.
  • Conduct regular reviews of collection accounts to determine appropriate next steps for recovery efforts.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders, such as credit risk and customer service teams, to optimize collection strategies and processes.
  • Develop training programs for collections staff to enhance their skills and knowledge.
  • Continuously evaluate and enhance collection strategies based on industry best practices and emerging trends.
  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in collections and recovery, preferably in a financial institution.
  • Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial analysis.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in using collection software and CRM systems.
