Job Description

A Clinical Applications Specialist plays a pivotal role in bridging the gap between clinical environments and medical technology. They are responsible for providing expert-level support, training, and guidance to healthcare professionals on the effective use of clinical software and medical imaging systems. This position requires in-depth knowledge of clinical workflows, medical terminology, and the technical aspects of healthcare applications. The Clinical Applications Specialist ensures that users are confident and competent in utilizing systems to improve patient care and operational efficiency. The role also involves supporting implementation projects, troubleshooting system issues, and staying current with regulatory and technological advancements in healthcare IT.


Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site and remote training to medical staff on clinical software and devices

  • Act as a liaison between clinical users and IT/technical teams

  • Support the implementation and integration of new clinical applications

  • Analyze clinical workflows and recommend system optimization strategies

  • Troubleshoot and resolve software-related issues in a timely manner

  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams during software updates and upgrades

  • Assist with system testing, validation, and user acceptance

  • Document and maintain training materials and user guides

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and data security standards

  • Participate in product demonstrations, evaluations, and feedback collection


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in IT, Nursing, Biomedical Engineering, Health Informatics, or related field

  • Prior experience in a clinical or healthcare IT setting

  • Strong understanding of EMR/EHR systems and medical imaging software

  • Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Ability to translate technical concepts into user-friendly instructions

  • Proficiency in troubleshooting and supporting healthcare applications

  • Familiarity with healthcare compliance standards (HIPAA, HL7, etc.)

  • Willingness to travel for on-site training and support

  • Strong organizational and time-management skills

  • Customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving
