Job Description

The Child Psychologist specializes in assessing, diagnosing, and treating emotional, behavioral, and developmental issues in children and adolescents. Working in a clinical, educational, or healthcare setting within the UAE, this role involves collaborating closely with families, educators, and healthcare professionals to support the mental well-being of young patients. The psychologist provides tailored therapeutic interventions while adhering to ethical standards and regulatory frameworks in child mental health care.


Responsibilities:

  • Conducting psychological assessments and diagnostic evaluations for children with emotional, behavioral, or developmental concerns.

  • Designing and implementing individualized treatment plans using evidence-based therapeutic methods.

  • Providing individual, group, and family counseling sessions to address a range of issues, including anxiety, trauma, learning disorders, and social challenges.

  • Collaborating with pediatricians, educators, and caregivers to create comprehensive care strategies.

  • Monitoring progress and adjusting treatment plans based on ongoing evaluations and feedback.

  • Maintaining detailed and confidential clinical records in accordance with UAE healthcare regulations.

  • Advising parents and teachers on techniques to support children’s mental and emotional development.

  • Staying updated with current research and best practices in child and adolescent psychology.


Requirements:

  • Master’s or Doctorate degree in Psychology, with a specialization in Child or Clinical Psychology.

  • Licensed or eligible for licensure as a Psychologist  in the UAE.

  • Minimum 3–5 years of clinical experience working with children and adolescents.

  • Strong diagnostic skills and proficiency in administering and interpreting psychological tests.

  • In-depth understanding of developmental psychology and child-specific therapy modalities such as CBT, play therapy, and family systems therapy.

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a compassionate and patient-centered approach.

  • Cultural sensitivity and ability to work with diverse families and communities.

  • Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is a plus.
