The Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) – Pharmaceutical is responsible for developing and executing strategic marketing initiatives to promote pharmaceutical products and services within the UAE and GCC region. This leadership role involves overseeing all aspects of marketing, including brand management, market research, product launches, and digital marketing. The CMO will ensure that marketing strategies comply with regional healthcare regulations, and effectively address customer needs while maximizing market share and revenue growth.
Responsibilities:
Developing and executing comprehensive marketing strategies to drive the growth and visibility of pharmaceutical products in target markets.
Leading a team of marketing professionals, overseeing brand positioning, digital marketing efforts, and product promotion.
Conducting market research and competitive analysis to identify trends, customer preferences, and opportunities for product innovation.
Collaborating with R&D, sales, and regulatory teams to align marketing strategies with product development and regional healthcare regulations.
Managing the launch of new pharmaceutical products, including advertising campaigns, promotional events, and sales force training.
Overseeing digital marketing efforts, including social media, online advertising, and website management, to reach healthcare professionals and consumers.
Building relationships with healthcare providers, key opinion leaders, and industry influencers to enhance brand credibility and market penetration.
Ensuring compliance with local and international regulations governing pharmaceutical advertising, including those set by the UAE Ministry of Health and the Central Drug Control.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Life Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a related field; MBA or Master’s in Marketing is preferred.
10+ years of experience in pharmaceutical marketing, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position in the UAE or GCC region.
Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical industry, regulatory environment, and marketing strategies in healthcare.
Proven track record of managing successful product launches and marketing campaigns across multiple channels.
Experience in managing cross-functional teams and working in collaboration with R&D, sales, and regulatory departments.
Exceptional leadership, communication, and strategic thinking skills.
Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
