Carpenter

As a Carpenter, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, repairing, and maintaining structures made of wood, plywood, and other materials. Your duties will include reading and interpreting blueprints and building plans to meet specifications, measuring and cutting materials to exact specifications, and assembling and joining materials together. In addition, you will be expected to install fixtures such as windows, doors, cabinets, and molding, and perform general repairs on wooden structures. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of various carpentry techniques, tools, and materials, as well as the ability to work independently or as part of a team. Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and physical stamina are essential for this role. A high school diploma and proven experience as a Carpenter are typically required for this position.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and sketches to determine specifications and requirements.
• Measure, cut, shape, and smooth wood and other materials according to measurements and project drawings.
• Build and install structures such as frameworks, staircases, doorframes, and rafters.
• Install windows, doors, and hardware.
• Construct building frameworks, including walls, floors, and roofs.
• Inspect and replace damaged framework or other structures as needed.
• Repair or renovate existing structures as required.
• Operate and maintain carpentry tools and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Collaborate with other tradespeople on construction projects to ensure timely completion.
• Maintain a clean and organized work area and adhere to safety guidelines and regulations at all times.
