Cargo Operations Agent

A cargo operations agent is responsible for ensuring the smooth handling, processing, and transportation of cargo shipments. This role involves coordinating with airlines, freight forwarders, and ground handling teams to ensure timely and accurate movement of goods. The ideal candidate must have strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. They will handle documentation, tracking, and compliance with customs and airline regulations while providing excellent customer service to clients and partners.

Responsibilities:

• coordinate the receiving, storage, and dispatch of cargo shipments in compliance with company and airline regulations

• ensure accurate documentation processing, including airway bills, customs forms, and shipment manifests

• monitor cargo handling procedures to maintain efficiency and prevent delays

• track and update shipment status, providing timely communication to clients and stakeholders

• liaise with freight forwarders, airlines, and customs authorities to resolve any shipment issues

• ensure compliance with safety, security, and regulatory guidelines for cargo handling

• assist in load planning and weight distribution for cargo aircraft

• conduct cargo inspections to verify shipment accuracy and detect potential damages or discrepancies

• support warehouse operations by organizing cargo storage and retrieval

• respond to customer inquiries and provide solutions for cargo-related issues

Requirements:

• high school diploma or equivalent; a degree in logistics, supply chain, or a related field is a plus

• minimum 2 years of experience in cargo operations, logistics, or freight handling

• knowledge of air cargo handling procedures, customs regulations, and documentation requirements

• proficiency in cargo management systems and ms office applications

• strong organizational and multitasking skills to handle high-volume shipments

• ability to work in a fast-paced, physically demanding environment

• excellent communication and problem-solving abilities

• flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required in airport operations
