Cargo Handler

A Cargo Handler is responsible for handling and transporting cargo or freight at an airport or transportation hub. They assist in loading and unloading cargo from aircraft or trucks, operate equipment such as forklifts or conveyor belts, and ensure the proper handling and storage of cargo. Cargo Handlers follow safety procedures and maintain efficient cargo handling operations.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload cargo from aircraft or trucks.
• Operate cargo handling equipment, such as forklifts or conveyor belts.
• Sort and organize cargo based on destination and flight information.
• Scan, weigh, and tag cargo according to manifest or shipping instructions.
• Ensure that cargo is properly secured and stored.
• Adhere to safety procedures and quality standards.
• Report any damaged or missing cargo to appropriate authorities.
• Handle special items or customer requests, such as perishable or hazardous cargo.

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Previous experience in a similar role is preferred.
• Physical fitness and ability to lift heavy objects.
• Attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced and demanding environment.
