Job Description

The Buyer is responsible for sourcing, selecting, and purchasing goods and materials that align with the organization’s needs, budget, and quality standards. Working within the procurement or merchandising team, the Buyer plays a key role in negotiating supplier agreements, analyzing market trends, and maintaining stock levels. This position requires a strong understanding of local and international supply chains, especially within the context of UAE trade regulations and vendor relations.


Responsibilities:

  • Sourcing and selecting vendors based on quality, price, reliability, and delivery speed.

  • Negotiating contracts and payment terms to secure optimal purchasing agreements.

  • Monitoring inventory levels to ensure timely replenishment and avoid overstocking or shortages.

  • Analyzing market trends and demand forecasts to make informed purchasing decisions.

  • Evaluating supplier performance and maintaining strong, professional vendor relationships.

  • Coordinating with logistics and warehouse teams for timely delivery and storage of goods.

  • Ensuring all purchases comply with internal procurement policies and UAE regulatory standards.

  • Preparing purchase orders and maintaining accurate records of transactions and supplier agreements.

  • Collaborating with internal departments to understand procurement needs and specifications.

  • Participating in cost reduction and efficiency initiatives across the supply chain.


Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.

  • Minimum 2–3 years of procurement or buying experience, preferably in retail, FMCG, or industrial sectors.

  • Strong negotiation and analytical skills with an ability to make data-driven decisions.

  • Familiarity with ERP systems and procurement software.

  • Knowledge of UAE import/export regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills for supplier engagement and internal coordination.

  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with changing priorities.
