Job Description
The Auto Electrician is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems and components in vehicles. They diagnose electrical issues, troubleshoot problems, and conduct necessary repairs. The Auto Electrician also install and repair electronic accessories, such as alarm systems, audio systems, and GPS devices. They test electrical systems to ensure functionality and compliance with safety standards.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and maintain electrical systems and components in vehicles.
- Diagnose electrical problems and conduct necessary repairs and replacements.
- Repair and replace faulty electrical parts, such as wiring harnesses, sensors, and switches.
- Install and wire electronic accessories, such as alarm systems, audio systems, and lighting systems.
- Test and troubleshoot electrical systems to ensure proper functionality.
- Follow electrical diagrams and technical manuals for accurate installation and repair procedures.
- Collaborate with other technicians to address complex electrical issues.
- Stay updated on automotive electrical systems and trends to recommend necessary improvements.
- Adhere to safety guidelines and regulations while working with electrical systems.
- Maintain accurate records of electrical repairs and services provided.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Relevant certification or diploma in Auto Electrical or Automotive Engineering.
- Proven experience as an Auto Electrician or similar role.
- Strong knowledge of automotive electrical systems and components.
- Ability to use diagnostic tools and electrical testing equipment.
