Associate Data Engineer

The Associate Data Engineer will support the design, development, and maintenance of data pipelines and infrastructure that enable efficient data processing and analytics across the organization. Working under the guidance of senior engineers, the role involves data ingestion, transformation, and integration from various sources, ensuring data quality and availability for business intelligence and machine learning initiatives. This position requires strong technical skills, attention to detail, and adherence to UAE data privacy and cybersecurity regulations.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting in the development and maintenance of scalable ETL pipelines to process structured and unstructured data.

• Supporting the integration of data from internal systems, APIs, and third-party sources into centralized data platforms.

• Performing data cleansing, transformation, and validation to ensure high-quality and reliable datasets.

• Collaborating with data scientists, analysts, and software engineers to meet business data requirements.

• Participating in database design and contributing to the creation of efficient data models for reporting and analytics.

• Monitoring data workflows and troubleshooting issues to ensure timely delivery and system stability.

• Documenting data processes, workflows, and system changes in accordance with best practices.

• Ensuring data handling practices align with UAE Personal Data Protection Law (PDPL) and organizational security policies.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field.

• 1–3 years of experience in data engineering, software development, or a related technical role.

• Familiarity with ETL tools and programming languages such as Python, SQL, or Scala.

• Basic knowledge of cloud data platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud.

• Understanding of database technologies including relational (e.g., PostgreSQL, MySQL) and NoSQL (e.g., MongoDB).

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a detail-oriented approach to data accuracy.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic proficiency is a plus.

• Awareness of UAE data privacy laws and compliance standards is preferred.
