Job Description

As an Associate Category Manager for Adhesives, you will be responsible for supporting the overall strategic direction and growth of the adhesive product category. Your duties will include assisting in developing and implementing category plans, conducting market research and analysis to identify trends and opportunities, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize product assortment and pricing strategies. You will also be involved in tracking and reporting on key performance metrics, monitoring inventory levels, and assisting in marketing and promotional initiatives to drive sales. The ideal candidate will have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and a passion for driving results in the adhesive category. A Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field is required, along with previous experience in category management or related roles within the adhesive industry.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement category strategies for the adhesives product segment in line with overall business objectives.
  • Conduct market research and analysis to identify industry trends, consumer preferences, and competitor activities.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to negotiate pricing, terms, and promotional support to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor and evaluate category performance, sales, and profitability against targets, identifying opportunities for growth and improvement.
  • Manage product assortment by analyzing sales data and consumer feedback to optimize product mix.
  • Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to develop and execute promotional plans, campaigns, and product launches.
  • Drive product innovation and development by working closely with suppliers and R&D teams.
  • Forecast demand and manage inventory levels to ensure product availability while minimizing excess stock.
  • Conduct regular vendor performance evaluations to maintain strong supplier relationships and drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay abreast of industry developments, technological advancements, and regulatory requirements impacting the adhesives category.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, or related field
  • 2+ years of experience in product management or category management, preferably in the adhesives industry
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and make strategic decisions
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint
