The Application Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of business-critical applications by troubleshooting issues, providing technical assistance, and optimizing system performance. This role involves working closely with end-users, IT teams, and software vendors to resolve technical problems, perform updates, and enhance application functionality. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to support a wide range of applications in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities:
provide technical support and troubleshooting for enterprise applications to ensure seamless operation
investigate and resolve application-related issues reported by users in a timely manner
collaborate with software developers, IT teams, and vendors to diagnose and fix system errors
perform system updates, patches, and configuration changes to enhance application performance
document technical issues, resolutions, and best practices to improve knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting
assist with software deployments, installations, and upgrades while minimizing disruptions to business operations
monitor application performance and proactively identify potential problems before they impact users
provide training and guidance to end-users on system functionalities and best practices
ensure applications meet security and compliance requirements by working with IT security teams
support data integration and report generation for business users as needed
Requirements:
bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field
minimum of 3-5 years of experience in application support or a similar technical role
strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical issues efficiently
knowledge of SQL databases, scripting, and system configurations
familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL
experience working with cloud-based applications, ERP systems, or enterprise software solutions
excellent communication and customer service skills to assist end-users effectively
ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities
experience with ticketing systems and service desk operations is a plus
fluency in English
