Job Description

The Application Support Specialist is responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of business-critical applications by troubleshooting issues, providing technical assistance, and optimizing system performance. This role involves working closely with end-users, IT teams, and software vendors to resolve technical problems, perform updates, and enhance application functionality. The ideal candidate should have strong problem-solving skills, technical expertise, and the ability to support a wide range of applications in a fast-paced environment.


Responsibilities:

  • provide technical support and troubleshooting for enterprise applications to ensure seamless operation

  • investigate and resolve application-related issues reported by users in a timely manner

  • collaborate with software developers, IT teams, and vendors to diagnose and fix system errors

  • perform system updates, patches, and configuration changes to enhance application performance

  • document technical issues, resolutions, and best practices to improve knowledge sharing and future troubleshooting

  • assist with software deployments, installations, and upgrades while minimizing disruptions to business operations

  • monitor application performance and proactively identify potential problems before they impact users

  • provide training and guidance to end-users on system functionalities and best practices

  • ensure applications meet security and compliance requirements by working with IT security teams

  • support data integration and report generation for business users as needed


Requirements:

  • bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field

  • minimum of 3-5 years of experience in application support or a similar technical role

  • strong troubleshooting and analytical skills to resolve technical issues efficiently

  • knowledge of SQL databases, scripting, and system configurations

  • familiarity with IT service management (ITSM) frameworks such as ITIL

  • experience working with cloud-based applications, ERP systems, or enterprise software solutions

  • excellent communication and customer service skills to assist end-users effectively

  • ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities

  • experience with ticketing systems and service desk operations is a plus

  • fluency in English
