Job Description

We are looking for a Anesthesia Technician who will be an integral part of the healthcare team, providing essential support to anesthesiologists and other medical professionals during surgical procedures and other medical interventions. Your expertise in preparing, maintaining, and troubleshooting anesthesia equipment will contribute to ensuring patient safety and the smooth operation of the anesthesia care process.


Responsibilities:


  • Set up and prepare anesthesia equipment and supplies required for surgical procedures, ensuring everything is sterile and functioning properly.
  • Calibrate and test anesthesia machines, monitors, ventilators, and other related devices.
  • Assist in positioning and securing patients before anesthesia administration.
  • Monitor and record patient vital signs, such as heart rate, blood pressure, and oxygen saturation, during procedures.
  • Assist anesthesiologists in administering anesthesia agents and medications to patients.
  • Prepare intravenous (IV) lines and assist in placing them for drug administration.
  • Assist in airway management, including the insertion and maintenance of endotracheal tubes, laryngeal masks, and other airway devices.
  • Be prepared to respond quickly to emergencies, assisting in resuscitation efforts and providing immediate support as needed.
  • Adhere to strict infection control protocols and maintain a sterile environment in the operating room.
  • Ensure proper disposal of medical waste and hazardous materials.
  • Clean, disinfect, and maintain anesthesia equipment, ensuring it is in optimal working condition.
  • Troubleshoot equipment malfunctions and collaborate with biomedical technicians for repairs.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed records of patient monitoring, medication administration, and anesthesia equipment usage.
  • Collaborate closely with anesthesiologists, surgeons, nurses, and other healthcare professionals to ensure safe patient care.
  • Stay updated on advancements in anesthesia technology and techniques through continuous education and professional development.

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Anesthesia Technology or a related field.
  • Relevant certification or licensure as an Anesthesia Technician, if required by local regulations.
  • Previous experience as an Anesthesia Technician is preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of anesthesia equipment, monitoring devices, and related procedures.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work accurately under pressure.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively within a healthcare team.
  • Ability to remain calm and responsive in emergency situations.
  • Knowledge of infection control protocols and safety practices.
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and documentation requirements.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and adapt to changing schedules as needed.
