Job Description

As an Accounting Assistant, you will play a key role in supporting the financial activities of the organization. Your responsibilities will include assisting with various accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, and collaborating with the finance team to ensure smooth and efficient financial operations.


Responsibilities:


  • Process vendor invoices, ensuring accuracy and proper authorization.
  • Prepare and process payments to vendors, maintaining adherence to payment terms.
  • Generate and send customer invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Record and reconcile customer payments, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, journals, and other accounting documents.
  • Reconcile bank statements and other financial accounts.
  • Review and process employee expense reports, ensuring compliance with company policies.
  • Assist in monitoring and controlling expenses within budgetary limits.
  • Assist in the preparation of financial reports, statements, and summaries.
  • Provide support during internal and external audits.
  • Accurately enter financial transactions into the accounting system.
  • Maintain organized and up-to-date financial databases.
  • Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
  • Assist in preparing accruals, prepayments, and adjusting journal entries.
  • Collaborate with other departments to obtain necessary financial information.
  • Communicate with vendors, customers, and internal stakeholders regarding financial matters.

  • Work experience as an Accounting Assistant or Accounting Clerk
  • Knowledge of basic bookkeeping procedures
  • Familiarity with finance regulations
  • Good math skills and the ability to spot numerical errors
  • Hands-on experience with MS Excel and accounting software (e.g. QuickBooks)
  • Organization skills
  • Ability to handle sensitive, confidential information
  • BSc/Ba in Accounting, Finance or a relevant field
