As a Sports Buyer, your primary responsibility will be to source, evaluate, and purchase a wide range of sporting goods and equipment to meet the needs of our retail stores. You will need to stay informed about the latest trends in the sports industry, negotiate with vendors to secure favorable pricing and terms, and maintain strong relationships with suppliers. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement strategic buying plans for sports merchandise and equipment.
  • Source and negotiate with suppliers to ensure quality and cost-effective products.
  • Monitor market trends and competition to stay ahead in the sports retail industry.
  • Work closely with merchandising and marketing teams to create promotional campaigns.
  • Analyze sales data to determine product performance and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Manage inventory levels and ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers.
  • Attend trade shows and events to discover new products and opportunities.
  • Collaborate with warehouse and logistics teams to facilitate product distribution.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations related to purchasing and procurement in the sports industry.
  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, sports management, or related field.
  • Strong knowledge and passion for sports and athletic apparel industry.
  • Minimum of 3 years experience in retail buying or merchandising, preferably in a sports-related field.
  • Excellent negotiation and analytical skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and experience working with merchandise planning systems.
