Job Description
The Speech and Language Therapist is responsible for assessing, diagnosing, and treating individuals with communication and swallowing disorders. They will work with clients across various age groups, from children to adults, and develop customized treatment plans to improve speech and language capabilities. The Speech and Language Therapist will also collaborate with other healthcare professionals, such as psychologists and occupational therapists, to provide comprehensive care.
Responsibilities
- Assess and diagnose communication and swallowing disorders.
- Develop personalized treatment plans for clients.
- Provide individual or group therapy sessions.
- Monitor progress and adjust treatment plans accordingly.
- Use specialized techniques and devices to enhance communication.
- Educate and provide guidance to clients and their families.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals for multidisciplinary care.
- Stay updated with latest research and advancements in the field.
Requirements
- Master's degree in speech-language pathology.
- Valid certification from an accredited speech therapy program.
- Knowledge of various communication disorders and treatment approaches.
- Experience working with diverse populations and age groups.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
