Senior Safety Engineer

The Senior Safety Engineer is responsible for leading and implementing comprehensive safety programs to ensure compliance with UAE health, safety, and environmental (HSE) regulations. Working in high-risk environments such as construction, oil & gas, or industrial operations, the role involves hazard identification, risk mitigation, and the development of safety systems and training. The Senior Safety Engineer collaborates closely with project teams, regulatory bodies, and contractors to promote a culture of safety and prevent workplace incidents.

Responsibilities:

• Developing and implementing site-specific safety plans and procedures in alignment with UAE regulations and international HSE standards.

• Conducting detailed risk assessments and hazard analyses for various project phases and operational activities.

• Monitoring workplace activities to ensure compliance with safety regulations and reporting any deviations.

• Leading incident investigations, identifying root causes, and recommending corrective and preventive measures.

• Coordinating and delivering safety training programs, toolbox talks, and awareness campaigns for employees and contractors.

• Preparing safety reports, audits, and documentation for internal and regulatory review.

• Liaising with local authorities and ensuring all necessary safety permits and approvals are secured.

• Reviewing engineering designs and construction plans to incorporate safety-by-design principles.

• Providing leadership and technical guidance to junior safety personnel and site teams.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Occupational Health & Safety, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in safety engineering within construction, energy, or industrial sectors in the UAE or GCC region.

• In-depth knowledge of UAE HSE regulations, labor laws, and industry-specific safety requirements.

• Strong understanding of risk management, emergency response planning, and incident investigation.

• Proficient in preparing technical safety reports, audits, and regulatory documentation.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.

• Ability to influence safety culture and work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

• Fluency in English
