We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Process Safety Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for leading process safety initiatives to ensure the safety and integrity of our operations. Your primary duties will include conducting process hazard analyses, leading process safety reviews, developing and implementing process safety management programs, and providing technical guidance on process safety regulations and best practices. The successful candidate will have a strong background in chemical engineering, extensive experience in process safety in industrial settings, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams. A Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field is required, with a Professional Engineer (PE) license preferred. Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement process safety management systems and programs to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct process hazard analyses (PHA) and layers of protection analyses (LOPA) to identify and mitigate process safety risks.
  • Lead process safety engineering design reviews for new projects and modifications to existing facilities.
  • Provide technical support and guidance to operations and maintenance teams to ensure safe operation of process equipment and systems.
  • Develop and deliver process safety training programs for employees at all levels within the organization.
  • Participate in incident investigations and root cause analysis to identify and address process safety issues.
  • Review and approve process safety documentation, including operating procedures, equipment specifications, and mechanical integrity plans.
  • Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and departments to ensure process safety considerations are integrated into all aspects of the business.
  • Stay current on industry best practices and emerging trends in process safety engineering to continuously improve the company's process safety performance.
  • Serve as a subject matter expert on process safety matters, representing the company in interactions with regulatory agencies, industry groups, and other stakeholders.
  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in process safety engineering.
  • Proficiency in utilizing process safety management tools and software.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety regulations and standards.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
