Job Description
A SAP ABAP Consultant is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining SAP applications using the Advanced Business Application Programming (ABAP) language. They work closely with business users to understand their requirements and create efficient solutions within the SAP system. The consultant is also involved in testing, debugging, and troubleshooting of ABAP programs, as well as providing technical support to end-users. Additionally, they collaborate with other team members to ensure seamless integration with other modules and applications within the SAP environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and enhance SAP ABAP programs based on user requirements
- Collaborate with functional consultants to understand business needs
- Perform unit testing and debugging of programs to ensure accuracy
- Create technical specifications and documentation for program development
- Provide technical support and resolve issues reported by end-users
- Optimize and tune performance of SAP applications and processes
- Support system upgrades and perform code migration activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration with other SAP modules
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working as a SAP ABAP Consultant
- Strong expertise in ABAP programming language and SAP development tools
- Knowledge of SAP modules and integration with other systems
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
