Job Description

As a Project Bid Engineer, you will be responsible for preparing and submitting competitive bids for projects within the company's field of expertise. Your primary role will be to analyze project requirements, estimate costs, and develop detailed proposals that meet the client's needs and expectations. You will collaborate closely with the sales, engineering, and procurement teams to ensure that bids are accurate, complete, and delivered on time. Additionally, you will actively participate in negotiations with clients to secure contracts and maximize profitability for the company. The ideal candidate for this position will have a strong background in engineering, excellent analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities

  • Analyze project bid requirements and develop detailed proposals in response to client Requests for Proposals (RFPs).
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including engineering, sales, and finance to ensure alignment on bid strategy and technical solutions.
  • Conduct initial project feasibility assessments and provide recommendations on cost estimates and project timelines.
  • Prepare and review technical documentation, drawings, and specifications for inclusion in bid proposals.
  • Manage and coordinate the bid submission process, ensuring all requirements are met and deadlines are adhered to.
  • Identify and mitigate risks associated with project bids by conducting risk assessments and implementing risk management strategies.
  • Support client presentations and meetings to explain technical aspects of bid proposals and address any client inquiries.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends, market conditions, and competitor activities to inform bid strategies and pricing decisions.
  • Assist in negotiations with clients and subcontractors to secure favorable terms and contracts for awarded projects.
  • Maintain accurate records of bid activities, project correspondence, and contract documentation for future reference and audit purposes.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
  • Strong understanding of project management principles.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Experience in preparing and submitting competitive bids for construction projects.
  • Proficiency in relevant software applications such as Microsoft Office and project management tools.
