Job Description

The Patient Coordinator is responsible for coordinating all aspects of patient care, ensuring efficient and effective delivery of healthcare services. They will serve as the primary point of contact for patients, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive patient experience. The Patient Coordinator will schedule appointments, provide information to patients regarding medical procedures, and handle inquiries. They will also assist with patient registration, verify insurance information, and collect payments. Attention to detail, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask are essential in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Schedule patient appointments and manage the appointment calendar.
  • Provide information to patients about medical procedures, including pre- and post-operative instructions.
  • Handle patient inquiries and address concerns or complaints.
  • Assist with patient registration, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information is collected.
  • Verify insurance information and collect copayments or outstanding balances.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to coordinate patient care plans.
  • Maintain patient records and ensure confidentiality of sensitive information.
  • Manage administrative tasks, such as filing and data entry.
  • Follow established protocols and procedures to ensure compliance with healthcare regulations.
  • Continuously strive to improve patient satisfaction and overall quality of care.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's or bachelor's degree preferred.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in electronic medical record systems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize effectively in a fast-paced environment.
