Job Description

As a Nursing Supervisor, your primary responsibility will be to oversee and coordinate nursing activities in a healthcare facility. You will play a critical role in managing nursing staff, ensuring high-quality patient care, and maintaining a safe and efficient work environment. Your role involves providing leadership, guidance, and support to the nursing team to deliver excellent healthcare services.


Responsibilities:


  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff, including registered nurses, licensed practical nurses, and nursing assistants.
  • Assign duties and responsibilities to nursing personnel based on their qualifications and competencies.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to enhance individual and team performance.
  • Ensure that nursing care plans are developed and implemented effectively for each patient.
  • Oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure smooth transitions of care.
  • Monitor and enforce adherence to quality standards and best practices in patient care.
  • Promote patient safety and infection control protocols within the healthcare facility.
  • Identify training needs for nursing staff and arrange relevant educational programs and workshops.
  • Provide ongoing training and professional development opportunities to enhance nursing skills.
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure coordinated patient care.
  • Facilitate effective communication between nursing staff and the medical team.
  • Manage nursing resources, including staffing levels, equipment, and supplies.
  • Work with the nursing department budget and allocate resources efficiently.
  • Identify areas for improvement in nursing processes and implement appropriate strategies.
  • Analyze nursing metrics and outcomes to measure the effectiveness of patient care.
  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, standards, and licensing requirements.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date nursing records and documentation.
  • Act as a point of contact during emergencies and crisis situations to coordinate nursing response and patient care.

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing is required. A Master's degree in Nursing or Healthcare Administration is advantageous.
  • A valid nursing license from the UAE health regulatory authority is mandatory.
  • Proven experience as a Nursing Supervisor or in a similar nursing leadership role.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of nursing practices, patient care standards, and healthcare regulations in the UAE.
  • Strong leadership and managerial skills to guide and motivate the nursing team effectively.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate with healthcare professionals, patients, and their families.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving abilities to address complex patient care situations.
  • Proficiency in English is essential, and knowledge of Arabic (spoken and written) is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to work in shifts and handle on-call duties, as required in healthcare settings.
