Network Administrator

A Network Administrator is responsible for managing, maintaining, and troubleshooting an organization's computer networks, ensuring seamless connectivity and security. This role involves configuring network hardware, monitoring performance, and implementing security measures to prevent cyber threats. The administrator collaborates with IT teams to optimize network performance, support end-users, and resolve technical issues. Strong analytical skills, problem-solving abilities, and knowledge of network infrastructure are essential for success in this role.

Responsibilities:

• Install, configure, and maintain network hardware, including routers, switches, and firewalls.

• Monitor network performance and troubleshoot connectivity issues.

• Implement security measures to protect the network from cyber threats and unauthorized access.

• Manage user access, permissions, and authentication settings.

• Perform regular system upgrades and apply security patches.

• Create and maintain network documentation, including configurations and policies.

• Work closely with IT teams to support infrastructure improvements and cloud integrations.

• Conduct regular network audits to identify areas for optimization.

• Provide technical support to employees and resolve network-related issues.

• Ensure data backup and disaster recovery procedures are in place.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.

• Proven experience as a Network Administrator or in a similar IT role.

• Strong understanding of networking protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, VPN).

• Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar network hardware.

• Familiarity with network security concepts, firewalls, and intrusion detection systems.

• Ability to diagnose and resolve network issues quickly and efficiently.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Relevant certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Network+ are a plus.

• Experience with cloud networking and virtualization technologies is beneficial.
