Medical Coder

We are looking for a highly skilled and detail-oriented Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for accurately translating medical diagnoses, procedures, and services into standardized codes to ensure proper billing and compliance with healthcare regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records and documentation to assign appropriate ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness of medical coding to comply with insurance and regulatory requirements.
• Work closely with physicians, healthcare providers, and billing departments to clarify diagnoses and procedures when needed.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of coding guidelines, medical terminology, and industry changes.
• Ensure compliance with HIPAA, insurance policies, and government healthcare regulations.
• Conduct audits and quality checks to ensure accuracy in coding and reimbursement claims.
• Resolve coding discrepancies and assist in claim denials or appeals when necessary.
• Maintain detailed coding reports and documentation for review and record-keeping.

Requirements:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Healthcare, Medical Coding, or a related field.
• Certification in Medical Coding (CPC, CCS, CCA, or equivalent) is required.
• Minimum 1-3 years of experience in medical coding, preferably in a hospital or clinic setting.
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, HCPCS, and medical terminology.
• Familiarity with healthcare insurance policies, billing procedures, and compliance standards.
• Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and medical billing software.
• Attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
