Job Description

As a Lead Procurement Engineer, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of procurement activities within the organization. Your primary role will involve developing and implementing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and ensuring the timely acquisition of goods and services at the best possible value. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in engineering along with proven experience in procurement and supply chain management. You will need to possess excellent communication and negotiation skills, as well as the ability to lead a team effectively. Additionally, you will be required to stay updated on industry trends and market conditions to make informed decisions that drive cost savings and operational efficiency. A successful Lead Procurement Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the organization's growth and success through strategic procurement practices.


Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize cost efficiency and project timelines.
  • Lead a team of procurement engineers and specialists, providing guidance and direction in procurement processes.
  • Manage vendor relationships and negotiate favorable contracts and terms with suppliers.
  • Source and evaluate potential suppliers based on quality, price, and delivery capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures as well as relevant industry regulations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand project requirements and provide procurement support.
  • Monitor and track procurement activities, including purchase orders, deliveries, and inventory levels.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and cost savings within the procurement function.
  • Participate in supplier audits and assessments to maintain quality standards and mitigate risks.
  • Prepare reports and presentations on procurement performance and contribute to overall project success.
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in procurement management or related field.
  • Strong understanding of supply chain management principles.
  • Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office suite.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
