The IT Operations & Support Engineer - Application Support will be responsible for ensuring the availability, performance, and security of various software applications within the organization. This role involves providing technical support, troubleshooting issues, and working closely with development teams to identify and resolve application-related problems. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in IT operations, with a focus on application support and a proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Key responsibilities include monitoring application performance, coordinating software upgrades, implementing best practices for application support, and creating documentation for end-users. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and a customer-centric approach are essential for success in this role.


Responsibilities

  • Provide application support to end users, troubleshooting and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Monitor application performance and availability, taking proactive steps to ensure optimal operation.
  • Collaborate with development teams to deploy new applications and updates, ensuring smooth transition and minimal downtime.
  • Document support processes and create knowledge base articles for common issues to facilitate self-service for end users.
  • Conduct performance tuning and optimization for applications to improve efficiency and user experience.
  • Participate in on-call rotation to provide after-hours support as needed for critical issues or outages.
  • Coordinate with vendors and third-party providers for escalated support and issue resolution.
  • Assist in testing and quality assurance efforts for new applications or updates before deployment.
  • Train end users on new applications and features to promote adoption and user proficiency.
  • Stay current with industry trends and best practices in application support and IT operations to continuously improve service delivery.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Professional certification such as ITIL, CompTIA A+, or similar relevant certifications.
  • Strong understanding of operating systems, networking, and database management.
  • Experience in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and resolving technical issues related to applications.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team environment.
