Job Description

The Inventory Controller in the retail industry is responsible for managing and maintaining optimal levels of inventory for the company. They will be in charge of monitoring stock levels, analyzing sales data, and forecasting demand to ensure products are available when needed. The controller will work closely with various departments, such as purchasing, sales, and logistics, to coordinate inventory movements. They must have excellent organizational and analytical skills, as well as strong attention to detail to ensure accurate inventory counts and reports.


Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels to meet customer demand.
  • Analyze sales data and trends to forecast inventory needs.
  • Coordinate with purchasing department to ensure timely replenishment of stock.
  • Conduct regular inventory counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Review and update inventory records in the system.
  • Identify slow-moving or obsolete stock and propose measures to minimize losses.
  • Communicate with sales and logistics teams to coordinate inventory movements.
  • Ensure compliance with inventory management policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with vendors to resolve any inventory-related issues.
  • Optimize inventory control processes to improve efficiency and accuracy.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Proven experience in inventory control or related field.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Proficient in inventory management software and MS Excel.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work well in a team environment.
  • Knowledge of retail operations and supply chain management.
  • Strong organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment.
