Job Description

The Insurance Claims Adjuster is responsible for investigating insurance claims and determining coverage and settlement amounts. They collect and analyze relevant information, review policy terms and conditions, and assess the extent of loss or damage. The Insurance Claims Adjuster also negotiates settlements and prepares reports documenting claim findings.


Responsibilities

  • Investigate insurance claims to determine coverage and liability.
  • Collect and analyze information, including police reports, photographs, and statements from involved parties.
  • Review policy terms and conditions and interpret coverage.
  • Assess loss or damage and calculate settlement amounts.
  • Conduct interviews with claimants, witnesses, and relevant experts.
  • Collaborate with insurance agents, legal counsel, and other professionals to resolve complex claims.
  • Negotiate settlements with claimants and ensure timely payment of approved claims.
  • Prepare detailed reports documenting claim findings and settlement recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate claim records and documentation.
  • Stay updated with industry regulations and best practices related to claims adjusting.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Insurance, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in insurance claims adjusting.
  • Strong knowledge of insurance policies and coverages.
  • Excellent investigative and analytical skills.
  • Effective communication and negotiation abilities.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple claims simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in using claim management software and tools.
