Food Saftey Specialist

The Food Safety Specialist is responsible for ensuring the safety, quality, and compliance of food products and processes. They will develop and implement food safety programs, perform audits and inspections, and provide training to employees. The Food Safety Specialist will stay updated on industry regulations and best practices to ensure continuous improvement and adherence to food safety standards. Attention to detail, knowledge of food safety regulations, and strong analytical skills are essential in this role.

Responsibilities

• Develop, implement, and maintain food safety programs, policies, and procedures.
• Conduct regular audits and inspections of food processing facilities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and best practices.
• Identify and assess potential food safety risks and develop strategies to mitigate them.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop and implement corrective actions as needed.
• Provide training to employees on food safety practices, including hygiene, sanitation, and proper handling of food products.
• Stay updated on relevant food safety regulations, industry trends, and emerging best practices.
• Investigate incidents of foodborne illnesses or product recalls and take appropriate actions to prevent future occurrences.
• Conduct assessments of suppliers and vendors to ensure compliance with food safety standards.
• Analyze and interpret data related to food safety, including microbiological test results and product quality indicators.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and recommend strategies to enhance food safety and quality.
