Fire Alarm Technician

As a Fire Alarm Technician, you will be responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing fire alarm systems in various facilities. Your duties will include conducting inspections, testing equipment, troubleshooting issues, and ensuring that systems are in compliance with safety regulations. You will work with a team to identify and resolve issues promptly, provide technical support, and document all work performed. Additionally, you will participate in training programs to stay current with new technologies and industry standards. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of fire alarm systems, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team. Relevant certifications and a valid driver's license may be required.

Responsibilities

• Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair fire alarm systems in commercial and residential buildings.
• Perform regular inspections and testing of fire alarm equipment to ensure functionality and compliance with regulations.
• Coordinate with building owners, contractors, and other stakeholders to schedule installations and maintenance visits.
• Identify and resolve technical issues related to fire alarm systems, including wiring, sensors, and control panels.
• Keep accurate records of work performed, inspections conducted, and parts used in the maintenance of fire alarm systems.
• Stay up-to-date on fire safety codes and regulations to ensure all work is compliant with industry standards.
• Provide training and support to building occupants on the proper use and response procedures related to fire alarm systems.
• Collaborate with other technicians and engineers to troubleshoot complex fire alarm system issues.
• Respond to emergency service calls and perform repairs or replacements of faulty components as needed.
• Maintain inventory of parts and supplies needed for fire alarm system maintenance and repairs.

• Qualifications for Fire Alarm Technician role:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Certification in Fire Alarm Systems or related field
• Knowledge of NFPA codes and standards
• Experience in installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of fire alarm systems
• Strong technical and problem-solving skills
