Electrical Engineer

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Electrical Engineer to join our team. This role will demand a broad range of experience and knowledge to support design projects, and value-added engineering efforts, and to continuously enhance our engineering analytics group. Innovation is key and we encourage the development of new solutions and technologies in-house. You will be responsible for the design of facilities related to electrical systems across a variety of markets including high-rise residential, education, commercial, industrial, manufacturing, science, and technology industries. This will include the preparation of electrical (MV/LV/ELV/AV) designs, calculations, analysis, estimates, reports, and specifications for building and facilities projects.

Responsibilities

• Develop electrical system designs, plans, and specifications in compliance with project requirements and electrical codes and standards.
• Create detailed schematics, diagrams, and layouts using computer-aided design (CAD) software.
• Independently performs all the tasks necessary to complete primary design elements for engineering works.
• Select appropriate electrical components, equipment, and materials for projects.
• Collaborate with procurement teams to source and purchase electrical supplies.
• Ability to act as a project manager assisting with workload planning, team management, and project management
• Assist in project checking for quality control on other projects.
• Ability to leverage previous experience completing multiple large projects with excellent results.
• Ensure compliance with all statutory and regulatory authorities and obtain approvals as necessary.
• Liaise with clients, professional organizations, contractors, suppliers, sub-contractors, and other designers.
• Generation of detailed cost estimates, material take-offs, schedules, and preparation of analytical reports and presentations.
• Stay updated on advancements in electrical engineering technology, industry trends, and best practices.
• Pursue professional development opportunities and certifications.

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field; Master's degree is a plus.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license is preferred.
• Proven experience as an Electrical Engineer, including design, testing, and project management.
• Proficiency in electrical engineering software and CAD tools.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, components, and equipment.
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Effective communication and interpersonal abilities.
• Detail-oriented with a commitment to accuracy.
• Ability to work independently and collaborate with multidisciplinary teams.
