Dredging Works Manager

The Dredging Works Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all dredging operations within marine construction or port development projects. This role includes planning, coordinating, and executing dredging activities while ensuring compliance with project specifications, environmental regulations, and safety standards in the UAE. The manager will liaise with contractors, engineers, and government bodies to ensure timely and cost-effective project delivery, while maintaining operational efficiency and environmental stewardship.

Responsibilities:

• Planning and supervising dredging operations, ensuring alignment with project timelines, technical specifications, and budgetary constraints.

• Managing on-site teams and subcontractors involved in dredging and reclamation works, ensuring productivity and compliance with safety protocols.

• Coordinating with marine engineers, consultants, and clients to resolve technical challenges and implement effective dredging solutions.

• Monitoring dredging progress and production rates, preparing daily reports, and updating stakeholders on project status.

• Ensuring compliance with UAE environmental regulations, including mitigation of sediment dispersion and marine life protection.

• Overseeing maintenance and operation of dredging equipment, ensuring readiness and adherence to performance standards.

• Reviewing hydrographic survey data and utilizing it to optimize dredging accuracy and efficiency.

• Managing procurement and logistics related to dredging operations, including equipment, materials, and resources.

• Implementing quality assurance measures and conducting inspections to maintain high standards of execution.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Marine Engineering, or a related field.

• Minimum of 8–10 years of experience in dredging operations, with at least 3 years in a managerial capacity.

• Proven track record in managing large-scale dredging or marine infrastructure projects in the UAE or GCC region.

• Strong understanding of dredging techniques, equipment, hydrographic surveying, and marine construction methodologies.

• Familiarity with UAE maritime and environmental regulations and compliance requirements.

• Excellent leadership, coordination, and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multidisciplinary teams.

• Proficiency in project management tools and dredging-specific software.

• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.

• Valid UAE driver’s license and willingness to travel to project sites as needed.
