Dental Assistant

A Dental Assistant plays a vital role in assisting dentists with patient care, organization of tools, and ensuring a smooth workflow at the dental office. The ideal candidate should have great communication skills, attention to detail, and be able to multitask effectively.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist dentists during procedures by handing them tools and providing suction
• Sterilize instruments and maintain a clean treatment area
• Take and develop dental x-rays
• Prepare patients for procedures and treatments
• Update patient records and schedule appointments
• Provide post-operative care instructions to patients
• Manage inventory and order supplies as needed
• Assist with administrative tasks such as billing and insurance claims
• Provide support to patients and address their concerns or questions
• Follow safety protocols and maintain infection control standards

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required
• Completion of a dental assistant program or on-the-job training
• Certification in radiography and CPR
• Strong knowledge of dental procedures and terminology
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
