Job Description

A Debt Collector is responsible for managing and collecting outstanding debts from customers. They contact debtors, negotiate payment plans, and track payment progress. They ensure compliance with debt collection regulations and maintain accurate and up-to-date records of debt transactions.


Responsibilities

  • Contact debtors to discuss outstanding debts and payment options.
  • Negotiate payment plans and arrangements with debtors.
  • Advise debtors on methods to repay their debts.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of debt transactions and payment progress.
  • Monitor, track, and follow up on outstanding debts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies or disputes related to debts.
  • Prepare and send correspondence, such as demand letters and legal notices.
  • Ensure compliance with debt collection regulations and company policies.


Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Previous experience in debt collection or a related field is preferred.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
  • Familiarity with debt collection regulations and practices.
