CTO (Chief Technology Officer)

The Chief Technology Officer (CTO) will lead the strategic direction, development, and implementation of technology across the organization, ensuring alignment with business goals and innovation objectives. Operating within the UAE’s rapidly evolving digital and regulatory landscape, the CTO will oversee IT infrastructure, software engineering, cybersecurity, and product development. This executive role requires a forward-thinking leader who can manage cross-functional teams, drive digital transformation initiatives, and ensure compliance with UAE data protection and technology laws.

Responsibilities:

• Defining and executing the company’s long-term technology strategy in alignment with business objectives and market trends.

• Leading the development and deployment of innovative products, platforms, and digital services across departments.

• Overseeing the IT infrastructure, software development, and cybersecurity functions to ensure operational excellence and data protection.

• Managing the technology budget, vendor relationships, and investment planning for scalable growth and ROI.

• Collaborating with C-suite executives to support business innovation, digital transformation, and competitive positioning in the UAE market.

• Establishing governance frameworks and ensuring compliance with local and international regulatory standards, including UAE data privacy laws and cybersecurity guidelines.

• Building and mentoring high-performing engineering, DevOps, and IT support teams.

• Evaluating emerging technologies and advising on integration opportunities to future-proof the organization’s tech stack.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field; MBA is an advantage.

• Minimum of 10 years of progressive experience in technology leadership, including at least 3–5 years in a senior/executive CTO role.

• Proven experience in leading digital transformation and building scalable technology solutions in a UAE or GCC business environment.

• Strong understanding of enterprise systems architecture, cloud platforms (AWS, Azure), and agile development methodologies.

• Deep knowledge of UAE regulations related to data security, privacy (e.g., PDPL), and IT governance.

• Exceptional leadership and communication skills with a track record of managing cross-functional and culturally diverse teams.

• Experience with fundraising, investor relations, or startup scaling (for tech startups) is a plus.

• Fluent in English; Arabic proficiency is advantageous for stakeholder communication and regulatory engagement.
