Consultant Vascular Surgeon

The Consultant Vascular Surgeon is a senior-level medical professional specializing in the diagnosis, treatment, and surgical management of disorders affecting the vascular system, including arteries, veins, and lymphatic circulation. This role involves performing complex surgical and minimally invasive procedures, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, and leading clinical care pathways to ensure optimal patient outcomes. The Consultant also provides expert opinions, supervises junior medical staff, and contributes to advancing vascular surgery through research, training, and best practice implementation.

Responsibilities:

• Diagnose and treat patients with vascular conditions, including aneurysms, varicose veins, arterial blockages, and peripheral vascular disease.

• Perform complex vascular surgeries such as bypass grafts, endovascular procedures, and carotid endarterectomy.

• Lead multidisciplinary team discussions and collaborate with radiologists, anesthetists, and other specialists for integrated care.

• Review patient cases, develop tailored treatment plans, and monitor post-operative recovery.

• Ensure surgical protocols and clinical standards are maintained to the highest level of patient safety and care.

• Supervise and mentor junior surgeons, residents, and medical students.

• Contribute to academic research, case studies, and participate in medical conferences or training sessions.

• Maintain accurate documentation and ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and hospital policies.

Requirements:

• Medical degree with specialization in General Surgery and further subspecialization in Vascular Surgery.

• Valid medical license to practice as a Consultant.

• Minimum of 8–10 years of post-graduate clinical experience, with significant experience in vascular procedures.

• Expertise in both open and endovascular surgical techniques.

• Strong leadership, decision-making, and communication skills.

• Commitment to continuous professional development and patient-centered care.

• Familiarity with the latest technologies and advancements in vascular surgery.
