Job Description

As a Commis III in the Pastry Kitchen, you will play a crucial role in supporting the pastry chefs in preparing and executing high-quality desserts and baked goods. Your responsibilities will include assisting with production, plating, and presentation of various pastries, cakes, cookies, and other sweet treats. You will be responsible for following recipes accurately, maintaining cleanliness and organization in the kitchen, and ensuring that all food safety standards are met. The ideal candidate for this role will have a passion for pastry arts, basic knowledge of baking techniques, and a willingness to learn and grow in a fast-paced culinary environment. Strong attention to detail, teamwork skills, and a positive attitude are essential for success in this position. Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation and production of various pastries, desserts, and baked goods.
  • Follow recipes and guidelines provided by senior pastry chefs.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization in the pastry kitchen.
  • Assist in inventory management and stock control of pastry ingredients.
  • Adhere to food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Operate kitchen equipment such as mixers, ovens, and scales.
  • Assist with plating and presentation of pastry items.
  • Participate in menu development and innovation under the guidance of senior pastry chefs.
  • Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff members.
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Certification in pastry arts or culinary arts preferred.
  • Proven experience working in a pastry kitchen environment.
  • Knowledge of food safety and sanitation regulations.
  • Ability to follow recipes and instructions accurately.
