Job Description

As a Category Demand Supply Planner, you will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies to optimize the supply chain process for a specific category of products. Your main objective will be to ensure that supply meets demand while minimizing costs and maximizing efficiency. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze data, forecast demand, and monitor inventory levels. Additionally, you will be involved in identifying potential risks and opportunities within the supply chain and proposing solutions to enhance overall performance. The ideal candidate will have strong analytical skills, excellent communication abilities, and a deep understanding of supply chain management principles. A background in demand planning, inventory management, and category management is preferred for this role. Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain demand forecasting models to predict customer demand and optimize inventory levels.
  • Collaborate with sales, marketing, and production teams to gather information and insights for accurate demand forecasting.
  • Analyze historical sales data, market trends, and customer behavior to identify patterns and make demand projections.
  • Monitor inventory levels and track product movement to ensure alignment with demand forecasts.
  • Work closely with suppliers to communicate demand forecasts, manage orders, and ensure timely delivery of products.
  • Identify supply chain risks and develop contingency plans to address potential disruptions in supply or demand.
  • Continuously improve forecasting accuracy by evaluating forecasting methods, refining models, and incorporating feedback from stakeholders.
  • Generate reports and metrics to provide regular updates on demand forecasting performance and inventory management.
  • Participate in cross-functional meetings and discussions to provide insights and recommendations for optimizing category demand and supply.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and external factors that may impact demand and supply dynamics within the category.


Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management, or related field.
  • Experience working in demand planning, supply chain, or related field for 3+ years.
  • Proficiency in using planning software and ERP systems.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
