Assistant Resident Engineer

The Assistant Resident Engineer supports the Resident Engineer in overseeing site operations, construction activities, and contractor compliance for infrastructure or building projects. This role involves on-site supervision, technical coordination, quality assurance, and progress reporting to ensure that work aligns with approved designs, specifications, and UAE regulatory standards. The Assistant Resident Engineer plays a key role in maintaining project timelines, safety, and quality across daily site activities.

Responsibilities:

• Assisting the Resident Engineer in monitoring daily site activities, ensuring work complies with drawings and specifications.

• Coordinating with contractors, consultants, and local authorities to resolve technical issues and ensure regulatory compliance.

• Conducting regular inspections to verify construction quality and adherence to safety and environmental standards.

• Reviewing shop drawings, method statements, and material submittals for compliance with project requirements.

• Preparing site reports, progress updates, and documentation of construction activities.

• Supporting the implementation of corrective actions in case of non-conformities or delays.

• Ensuring that all site work follows UAE building codes, local municipality requirements, and HSE regulations.

• Collaborating with QA/QC and HSE teams to maintain documentation and project standards.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related field.

• 2–4 years of experience in site supervision or construction engineering, preferably in the UAE or GCC.

• Familiarity with infrastructure or building projects and knowledge of project lifecycle phases.

• Strong understanding of UAE building regulations, authority approvals, and HSE compliance.

• Proficient in AutoCAD, MS Office, and project management tools.

• Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

• Fluency in English is required; Arabic is an advantage.
